Inspired Art by Lily Martinez

Artist's Statement

My work is a reflection of my great admiration of our world’s natural beauty.  Fantasy is often intertwined with reality, as I combine the beauty within with the beauty without in vibrant colour.  Even my most abstract paintings often end up resembling some part of our world, although not always intentionally.

I express my vision of the surrounding land and waterscapes in minimal detail, and maximum texture in a modern-abstract style.  I am currently exploring the more fantastical and abstract interpretations of nature.

After leaving my career in business, I rediscovered my gift for the fine arts, and am now determined to help others discover their own unique abilities.  I have a particular interest in inspiring people to dig deep and discover their hidden talents, and to bring them a hope that is much too often lost or forgotten.

Artist's Biography

Lily Martinez was born in 1978 in Ottawa, Ontario, (nee Lily Nesrallah).  As a young child, Lily enjoyed drawing, painting and sketching.  She drew inspiration from her mother who paints in oils.  At the age of ten she moved to Kitchener, Ontario where she resides today with her husband and three children.

After a short career in business, Lily decided to follow her true calling as an artist and a writer.  Lily's medium of choice is acrylics on canvas, and she likes to paint with texture, often using the pallet knife in a modern-impressionistic style.

Lily has published two books, "Addicted to Love" and  "Called to be a Woman" and has illustrated a children's book, "Hermosing's First Lesson at School" that her husband wrote.
